Large print The legacy of Elizabeth Pringle
Publication year: 2014
Media class: Large print
Series title: Isis Hardcover
Seemingly on a whim, 95-year-old Elizabeth Pringle bequeaths Homelea, her beloved house on Arran, to a woman she has never met. As a young woman comes take up Homelea she slowly unlocks the mysteries and heartbreaking secrets of Elizabeth Pringle's true legacy, in a multi-generational story of love and belonging.
Beautifully written. Elizabeth leaves everything she has to Anna who sadly has Alzheimer's. Annas daughter Martha visits the house she lived in to solve the mystery of who Elizabeth Pringle was. The story jumps between the present life of Martha and Elizabeths memories of her life in Arran. It's a bit of a slow burner to start with but hard to put down. The story is both heart warming and tear jerking once Elizabeths secret is revealed. Thoroughly recommendable.
